It is the student's responsibility to obtain the appropriate visa or travel authorization required to participate in the HIWS Internship Program. As visa regulations vary by country and nationality, students should consult the Korean Embassy or Consulate in their country of residence or study to determine the most suitable entry status.

In general, students from countries or regions that have a visa-waiver agreement with Korea may be eligible to participate in the program using a K-ETA (Korea Electronic Travel Authorization). Eligibility can be checked through the K-ETA website.

*Please note: Even if your country has a visa-waiver agreement with Korea, you may still be required to obtain a visa depending on your nationality, travel history, or other circumstances. Therefore, we strongly recommend confirming your eligibility with the Korean Embassy or Consulate first before making travel arrangements.

Students from countries that are not eligible for visa-free entry must apply for an appropriate visa, such as a Short-Term General Visit Visa (C-3-1) or a Short-Term Study Visa (D-2-8) through the Korean Embassy or Consulate in the country where they currently reside or study.

As visa processing times can vary and may take several weeks, students are encouraged to begin the application process as early as possible.

For additional information regarding visas and immigration procedures, please refer to the Visa Information section in the left-hand sidebar menu.
